Carmen Aguilar at Peace Love Yoga Glassboro
UPCOMING WORKSHOPS & EVENTS FOR PLY...
Carmen Aguilar, had completed an Engineering degree and then a Masters degree, spoke 4 languages and was deciding in what direction to launch her career when she found yoga. A seemingly crazy choice at the time, she dropped everything and devoted all her energies to the study of this discipline. The deeper she got into it the more it fascinated her.
During the first years she studied with every teacher she could find, completed 5 different Teacher Trainings while she started to develop her own style and her daily practice. Devoting to it 3 hours, 7 days a week, she has been able to reach levels few practitioners share. She has been teaching yoga for more than 19 years and during that time she’s developed a unique teaching style, cYoga, intended to make her students achieve their best both physically and mentally.
In her own words: ‘cYoga came from a craving for an intense practice: I wanted to try things my body couldn’t follow but pretty soon I realized how much sequencing and warming up affected the outcome. An intense asana practice is not only cleansing and rejuvenating, but it can also change the way we’re wired. Our body is the most tangible vehicle to access our very own essence and stepping on our mat is an amazing and precious experience!’
In 2018, she sold her yoga studio, The Lab, and moved to Hawaii, where she lives with her husband Moises, while traveling around the world teaching yoga.

Flow & Let Go: Moon Salutations & Yin Yoga
September 22nd, 2019 5-6:30pm
Embrace the qualities of stillness, release and surrender. Moon salutations and yin are both grounding practices meant to soothe and calm you. Moon salutations will nurture the body through a series of stretching and strengthening poses and yin will continue to release tension and tightness, especially in the hips and low back. Both can relieve stress, increase creativity, and promote relaxation. Finish with a guided meditation to truly let go and make space for great things to come. There will be moon milk after class to help carry this relaxation into the coming season!
Peace & Liberation Retreat: Poconos, PA
Learn how to use Yin Yoga postures to trigger deep physical and emotional healing so you can experience profound well-being, health, and balance between the many areas of life. In this class, we will practice Yin Yoga poses that target energy channels known as meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine (which acupuncture uses). We will do Yin Yoga poses that stretch and open these energy channels while pressing on acupressure points to amplify the effects. It feels like doing acupuncture on yourself! At the end of this class, you will go home with a Yin Yoga sequence that you can do at home to continue to nurture these powerful healing centers in your body.

Yin Yoga & Acupressure
Learn how to meditate and learn how to make meditation easier using Yin Yoga. Through the practice of Yin Yoga, we will open up the hips and spine to make sitting meditation easier. While practicing the Yin poses, we will explore the purpose and techniques of meditation and use that to find peace in the poses. This will release the thoughts, stress, and worries in the mind so we can start meditating with a more tranquil mind. This will make the seated meditation at the end of class so much sweeter.

Yin Yoga Retreat/Training
Learn to practice the art of relaxing and explore how it can change your life. In this class, we will practice some delicious Restorative Yoga poses to relax and release deeply held stress. We will explore, relax, and rejuvenate each layer of ourselves until we reach and experience the very core of who we are. This will be followed by Yoga Nidra- a 45 minute guided savasana, During this deep relaxation, our brain waves settle into an alpha wave pattern, which gives us the opportunity to change the way our brain is wired. We will then use an affirmation known as a sankalpa to reprogram our subconscious and manifest profound changes in our lives. It is an amazing experience.

Yoga for the Soul with Chanti
Yoga has various meanings, but us yogi’s often refer to it as a FLOW. What is FLOW? Flow is defined in psychology as the mental state or “zone” where one is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement and enjoyment in the process of the activity. This class teaches individuals how to encompass this state through their personal yoga practice. It urges students not to complicate the practice, but to feel the practice—& become the practice. In this 4 week (semi private) series you will learn the basic rules and movements of “flow” as well as how to make it your own. Space is limited.
